It's a wonderful thing in life when you can take a great thing and make it even better. We had a very nice condo we were renting in Sandy. It was pretty, had a big kitchen, two rooms and baths, and a great location very close to the freeway.
However, around June Kristen began searching KSL.com and Craigslist for some apartments that could top the one we already had. After only a couple of weeks, and only a couple of possible missed opportunities - we found one with real potential. The basement apartment in Woods Cross touted 1600 total sq. ft, two large bedrooms, an office, and a big kitchen. Well, that beat our current apartment by 500 sq. feet. It also cost $50 less than our current rent, and included all utilities, satellite, and internet. So in the end we'd save at least $150 per month. Starting to sound like a no-brainer.
We also were able to move closer to Kristen's mom - who had been commuting the 40 min. drive from Kaysville to Sandy on a regular basis. Now it's only 15 min., so she plays with William (and "Mommy") a lot. We live 5 min. from my sister, Kendra. This is has been great for both of us as we exchange babysitting on many occasions. Plus, Kaden and Eva love playing with William.
I am also just as close to work as before. I now ride a bike about 2 miles to the Frontrunner Train station to take a about a 30 min. trip into downtown Salt Lake City. This leaves Kristen with the car on most days, so now she is free to run more errands. I also get some reading in, and never worry about traffic anymore, just cold mornings.
Yay!

This move really was a good thing for you guys. I didn't realize how much closer it put you to K-mom. Your new apartment really does have a lot of space too :)
